Privacy policy

1. Who we are

PatientFiLoan (“PatientFiLoan,” “we,” “us”) publishes patientfiloan.com (the “Site”), an independent consumer guide to PatientFi patient financing. We are not affiliated with PatientFi, Inc. We cannot access PatientFi accounts and we do not receive information from PatientFi about you.

2. What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle information collected on the Site, including pages, calculators and email you send us. It does not cover PatientFi, lenders, the operator of the loan-finder form, or any other website you reach through a link. Those companies have their own privacy policies.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, we receive your email address, name if you include it, and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting provider and analytics tools may collect your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, and approximate location at the city or region level.

Information we do not collect

Calculator inputs, such as treatment cost or planned payment, are processed in your browser and are not sent to us. We do not collect Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, income, or credit information.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of third-party tools. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so no font requests go to third parties.

• Statcounter for aggregate traffic statistics, such as pages viewed and referring sites.
• Google Analytics 4, if we enable it in the future, to measure visits and page performance. We will update this policy when it is active. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or social media tracking pixels. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work.

5. How we use information

• To operate, secure and improve the Site
• To understand which guides are useful and which need updating
• To respond to corrections, questions and privacy requests
• To comply with law and protect our rights

We do not use your information to make decisions about credit, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share limited information only with:

• Service providers that host the Site, deliver email, or provide analytics, under contracts that limit their use of the data
• Authorities, when required by law or to protect the safety and rights of others
• A successor, if the Site is sold or transferred, subject to this policy

7. The loan-finder form

Some pages include a loan-finder form provided by a third-party lending network. Information you enter there, such as your name, contact details, income or Social Security number, is collected directly by that operator and the lenders it works with. It is not stored by PatientFiLoan. Their privacy policy and consent terms, shown inside the form, govern that information, including whether you receive calls, texts or emails. We may learn only that a form was submitted, for commission tracking, without your personal details.

The form is not an application to PatientFi.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete information we hold about you
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither)
• Not be treated differently for exercising these rights

To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request.” We will verify the request using the email address involved and respond within 45 days. An authorized agent may submit a request with written permission from you. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.

9. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request for your browser. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, the signal requires no further action from us. There is no common standard for Do Not Track signals, so we do not respond to them separately.

10. How long we keep information

We keep emails for up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless a longer period is needed to resolve a dispute or meet a legal duty. Analytics data is kept according to each tool’s retention settings, set to 14 months where the tool allows.

11. Security

The Site is served only over HTTPS and uses security headers, including a content security policy. No website or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

The Site is intended for adults in the United States. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, or target anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Links to other websites

Our guides link to PatientFi, regulators, review sites and other sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

14. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the dates at the top. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will note it at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
